How to nurture our Feminine Energy - The TOP FIVE WAYS - and why it matters !!!

I am very happy and grateful that you are reading this. Because I believe that what I am going to share with you is the most important truth for any woman to know. It changed my life completely.

Do you wish to feel happier and have more energy?

Ten years ago I was a completely different person. I was in an unhappy marriage, very unhealthy, smoking, drinking and not a very nice person to be around.

One day I came across an article in a women’s magazine on sacred intimacy. It painfully reminded me of what I was truly longing for as a women. My sensual side had been dead for too long and shortly afterwards my husband and I divorced.

Now at 40 and have never felt more alive. I transformed my health and married my true soul mate. I qualified in Energy Medicine, became an Author and have been researching and teaching about feminine energy for many years.

And all of this happened because I listened to a tiny whisper of my feminine soul.

You can do the same and tap into the power of your own Feminine Energy. Let me share with you how!

The key is to Understand and Honor our Feminine Nature.

But why is it so important? What happens if we don’t?

I meet many women, who are stressed at work, slaves to routine or taking care of everybody else around them but don’t feel they have the right to look after themselves or don’t know how to. And like a plant that doesn’t get watered we can wither, loose our feminine radiance and zest for life. We might age pre-maturely, start to comfort eat and pile on weight or turn to drugs, alcohol or anti-depressants. It’s easy to get caught up in routine, especially if we are in a demanding job or we have children. I have been there myself.

The good news is any woman can wake up at any time. It’s never too late to start looking after your self in the right way and truly understand, reconnect with and nurture our Feminine Energy and begin to reverse any damage.

So what exactly is feminine energy?

We all have an instinctive knowledge of this but are often not consciously aware of it or we have lost touch with it for various reasons.

Feminine and masculine energy are everywhere around us and in us. Nature, places, animals and objects have different polarities of the masculine and feminine.

Masculine Energy is active/giving out and directional.

Feminine Energy is passive/receptive and free-flowing.

The element of Water for example has the feminine polarity and Fire the masculine.

A place of predominant feminine energy is Hawai and a predominant masculine energy (with its directional upward pointing rigid buildings) is New York.

Masculine energy in humans is typically head centered and thought based, whilst Feminine energy is body centered and feeling based.

Every man and woman has both the feminine and masculine energy within them. We are born with varying proportions of these energies. Most women are naturally feminine in their core energy.

This means that the feminine will be our healthy energetic resting place. It’s the energy that will be the most comfortable, joyful and effortless to us.

We are however often spending too much time in our so called “animated masculine” energy.

For example: If our home or work place is predominantly masculine we might feel more valued, safer and less exposed when we act a bit like one of the boys.

When I worked in a Japanese Bank in the City, I often felt as if I had to shut off my heart and body to get by. After a day at work it can then be a matter of habit to stay in a more masculine energy.

This will however drain a woman’s energy and negatively affect female health.  It also neutralizes sexual polarity and attraction in our intimate relationships.

The secret to being healthy, vibrant and happy as a woman is to keep resting in and nurturing our Feminine Energy.

So what are simple and effective ways to nurture our Feminine Energy?

Let me give you 5 powerful ways:

We all instinctively know what’s good for us as women, but the key is to consciously give ourselves permission to claim the time and space to look after ourselves in this way. What I am describing are not idle activities or lazying about but vital ways to maintain health as a woman.

1.      Rest

It is not a sign of weakness to be tired. It can however be a sign of our body telling us that we have been neglecting our feminine side for too long. A lot of us have been frenzied and pushing ourselves for so long that we might simply need to catch up with a lot of rest because we have been drained on a very deep level. So let’s slow down, rest when we need to, have a good night’s sleep and don’t set the alarm on the weekend.

2.      Time in Nature

The Feminine Soul is at home in nature and any time spent outdoors, near trees or in the grounds of either a park or the countryside helps us to refuel our feminine energy. Next time you are out, take in different smells of flowers or grass and feel the breeze. Gaze at a sunset and listen to the wind. Commune with nature in any way you instinctively feel like and allow yourself to experience it as part of your being.

Years ago I attended an intuition training in the US and halfway through the training we had to go outside and communicate with nature. The trainer told us that we should ask the first stone, plant, tree or creature that caught our attention any question and listen to any answers in our minds. I imagined a glorious majestic oak tree giving me really cool pieces of wisdom. Outside I slipped on some wet grass and almost lost my balance. When I looked at the grass I saw some flowers and on one of them I noticed a common fly. I thought: “Surely that doesn’t count, I am not going to ask you any questions – where is my stunning tree?” To my horror I had this little silent question in my head asking: “Why? Is it because I am only a fly?” I thought: “I hate flies, I don’t think it’s supposed to teach me anything!” And then I noticed that it had only one wing. I felt sorry for it and was wondering if it could fly with only one wing. As soon as I had asked myself that question it flew off and was gone. In my mind I heard the words: You don’t have to be perfect to fly! That really hit home. It’s easy to forget to enjoy life to the fullest whilst striving for perfection. So be open, listen to nature and just see what happens.

3.      Music and Singing

Listening to beautiful music can open your right brain and evoke feelings of happiness and contentment. By singing along to our favorite song, chanting a sacred mantra or attending a class to free our voice we are using our bodies to create a healing vibration and energize ourselves. There are no rights and wrongs and Karaoke with your children can be just as nurturing as chanting in Sanskrit.

4.     Enjoying and accepting our Body

A lot of us have lost touch with our bodies. During one seminar where I was talking about healing our Sensuality a woman told me: “I just feel dead from my head downwards!” Remember Feminine Energy is body centered. Reconnecting with our bodies is absolutely vital for any woman. We need to change the way we look at ourselves and how we move our bodies. When women exercise in a masculine way it will make them look harder and has negative effects on health, happiness and intimate relationships. Most of us make no distinction between male or female ways to move. We are not aware that many exercises are not suitable for women in the long term. We are told to go to the gym, lift weights, go on the treadmill etc., but few of us understand that although this might be alright for men, it can be bad news for women despite looking more toned.

Masculine exercises often have a competitive edge and produce the stress hormone adrenaline. During exercise men typically strive to improve endurance, speed, strength, muscle tone etc. However, healthy feminine energy and radiance is closely linked to feeling physical pleasure and the joy of being in a female body. The focus should not be on perfecting our bodies but enjoying our bodies to the fullest. Healthy movement for women will encourage the flow of endorphines – our pleasure giving hormones - and promote a more sensual physical energy and feeling of wellbeing. Any movement that feels good is the best exercise for a woman.

When my 10 year old daughter comes back from school we often do a 10 minute crazy dance to the song: “Girls just wanna have fun”. We rollerscate in the park, do the hula hoop or jump on our rebounder to music. On my own I bellydance, do Nia and African Healing Dance. Feminine movement, especially belly dancing, sacred or healing dances will truly connect us with our body. It energizes us, heals physically and emotionally and is a most enjoyable and invigorating way to exercise for women.

Always listen to your body and ask yourself: How does this movement feel? Am I happier and more energetic than before?

In my book “Kinetikus – the story of a Divine Lover” I explain feminine and masculine polarity as a basis for healthy intimacy. Kinetikus was written with the loving intention to help us open our hearts and bodies. Please feel free to test-read the first chapter by clicking HERE!

5. Opening our Heart

Giving and Receiving Love is one of our greatest feminine gifts and energizes us. Make a conscious choice to keep opening your heart to yourself and others and fully enjoy the flow of love in your life. Practice giving and receiving love regardless of your mood or circumstances with your friends and family.

If a relative or friend makes a judgemental comment I remind myself that I can still feel love for them and that they mean more to me than just their behaviour. Allow your heart to expand continuously.

You have the right to look after yourself as a woman. Let's promise ourselves to nurture our feminine energy. Every woman’s journey to do so is unique but it is inextricably linked to enjoying our body and opening our heart fully.

Remember: It’s a pleasure to be a woman!
